C&S Wholesale Grocers is a privately-owned company with annual sales approaching $13 billion and is the eighth largest privately held company in the nation, according to Forbes magazine. The purchase price was not disclosed.
C&S provides distribution services to grocery chains and independent stores, delivering to more than 3,000 locations from its distribution centers in Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, California and Hawaii. C&S acquired the building when they purchased all of Fleming's assets, but found they do not need this site.
