Davidson continues to serve on the board.

Colorado planning and budgeting director Nancy McCallin is the new chair pro tem. And Pikes Peak Community College president Joe Garcia was named secretary/treasurer.

Cooke has served as a member of the Governor's cabinet since Gov. Bill Owens was sworn into office in 1999.

As head of the department of revenue, she oversees state programs including tax collection, enforcement, driver licenses and vehicle registration and the regulation of gaming, racing and lottery.

Milroy A. Alexander, executive director of CHFA says Cooke has "tackled some tough issues in her position with the governor's cabinet, and we are confident she will lead us to even more success in the year ahead."

Created by the state legislature in 1973, CHFA is a political subdivision of the state. In the past 30 years, CHFA has provided more than 50,000 loans to first-time home buyers, financing more than 43,000 multifamily units, and providing loans to small businesses in Colorado that have created more than 24,099 loans.

CHFA loans to developers are often considered the "loans of last resort," as borrowers cannot obtain conventional bank financing. John Hickenlooper, a developer and restaurant owner before he was elected mayor of Denver last year, received CHFA loans on a number of his developments.
