The expansion will create 128 jobs over the next three years, increasing overall employment at the facility to 703. Gov. Ed Rendell's economic development action team supported the expansion and the state will provide $384,000 in job creation tax credits and a $250,000 opportunity grant.

In addition to its corporate headquarters and the distribution center, Dick's operates 23 stores in Pennsylvania and employs approximately 2,400 in the state. Six of its stores are in the Philadelphia region. "We look forward to growing our operations even further," says Edward Stack, chairman and CEO.

In all, the company operates 169 full-line sporting goods stores in 27 states throughout the Eastern US. It went public in October 2002 and trades as DKS on the NYSE.
