The new clinic, to be built at a hard construction cost of about $292 per sf, will consolidate Nemours' 11 offices housing 58 doctors and 350 support staff near Orlando Regional Medical Center located near Downtown. Industry consultants tell GlobeSt.com Nemours may need additional land in south Orlando for near-future expansion, particularly if the clinic begins offering other services such as outpatient surgery.
Nemours' project ties in with Florida Hospital's planned $400-million expansion of its properties in Downtown, east Orlando and suburban Altamonte Springs, FL, as GlobeSt.com previously reported. Another competitor, Orlando Regional Healthcare, has started a $100-million expansion of its Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women.
