In Canton County, developers for the proposed Town Mill project have scaled down plans that were rejected in February. The project is now planned for 846 shelter units, down from 899 homes. Area residents opposed the developer's first proposal because of its density in a largely agricultural neighborhood, brokers familiar with the Canton market tell GlobeSt.com.

In Henry County, four developers need rezonings before they can break ground on their projects. 3-D Construction of Hampton, GA plans 85 homes on 87 acres northeast of Locust Grove, at Leguin Mill Road and Cardell Drive near Unity Grove Elementary School.

Cameron Development Corp. wants to build 84 homes on 43 acres along Chambers Road near Mount Carmel Road. Nearby completed projects are the 720,700-sf Henry Towne Power Center and Mount Carmel Park. Hayes Development Corp. of Fayetteville, GA expects to build 66 houses on 35 acres on Hampton-Locust Grove Road near GA 155. The project would be north of the under-construction Heron Bay golf community.

TA Investments LLC of Lithonia, GA has applied for a rezoning of 30 acres in northeast Henry County where the developer plans a 31-home subdivision. The Municipal Planning Commission already has approved the four projects but they also need a sign-off from the county commission.
