Gov. Bill Owens also is scheduled to attend, along with Robert A. Alter and Charles L. Biederman of Sunstone Hotels Investors LLC, the developer. The hotel already has booked a number of business travelers, Susan Stiff, spokeswoman for the hotel, tells GlobeSt.com.

The hotel includes 7,100 sf of meeting space, a 3,000-sf ballroom, three divisible meeting rooms, pre-function space overlooking a courtyard, and an enclosed courtyard available for private functions. The hotel is adjacent to the Janus family of mutual funds new world headquarters.

The hotel expects quite a bit of business from Janus and visiting corporate executives on "road shows" who arrive in limousines with hopes of getting Janus to invest in their companies, Alter tells GlobeSt.com. In addition, the hotel will be the "one of choice" for people living in nearby expensive neighborhoods when it comes to wedding reception and bar mitzvahs, according to Alter. The hotel is three miles southeast of Downtown.
