Buyer Alberto Pagan of Arlington intends to open a used vehicle sales lot and service operation on the East Abrams Street land, bought with all cash for about $80,000, Nell Council with SCM Real Estate Services in Arlington tells GlobeSt.com. Pagan's plan includes putting up a large building to accommodate the business, Caribe Motors.
The lots, representing one acre along a primary street, were acquired from the Smith Family Trust of Houston and Powdrill & Smith partnership with Dallas and Houston ties. Key to the decision to buy is 300 feet of frontage along Abrams Street and a positioning just east of Interstate 360.
"His vision is he's between two great cities," Council says of the 3132 E. Abrams St. purchase. The land failed to sell through the years because it's situated in an older commercial section of town and east rather than west of the interstate. "There's been a sign up there for years," she says.
