HY-R will manufacture a type of wall panel used in the construction of houses and commercial buildings that can cut energy costs for homeowners or businesses up to 50%, according to state officials.
Gene Barbanti, president of HY-R Building Systems, says, "Empire State Development has provided tangible support. HY-R will be marketing a building product that will set a new standard for the construction industry and will be introducing the product to New York State."
HY-R Building Systems is eligible to apply to Empire State Development for a $50,000 reimbursement for a portion of machinery acquisition costs, according to state officials. On Friday, the governor announced another deal of sorts in Sullivan County. The transaction involved the state acquiring 942 acres of land in Sullivan County along the Shawangunk Ridge and Trail in the town of Mamakating for recreational use. The land encompassed five separate parcels that will provide expanded hiking and recreational opportunities, state officials say.
The five properties include: the 370-acre Konstantinoff parcel, the 182-acre Howell parcel, the 151-acre Stutzman parcel, the 162-acre Wurtsboro Steam Laundry parcel and the 77-acre Lazar parcel. The acquisitions will help expand and enhance the Shawangunk Ridge hiking trail, providing a link from the Bashakill Wildlife Management Area to the Wurtsboro Ridge State Forest and northeast to the Shawangunk Ridge State Forest. The purchase price for the five properties was $937,700 and will be paid for through the State Environmental Protection Fund.
The state was assisted in these land purchases by the Open Space Institute, the Trust for Public Land and the New York/New Jersey Trails Conference.
