3M's project will include 100,000 sf of additional space to expand a manufacturing line of film that enhances the brightness of displays in products such as cell phones and notebook computers. The project will create 28 jobs.

Doyle credits his "Grow Wisconsin" plan for investing in manufacturing and technology development, and said the expansion will bring jobs that can support families and new economic opportunities to the Chippewa Valley. Maplewood, MN-based 3M is a diversified manufacturing company with leading positions in health care, safety, electronics, telecommunications, industrial, consumer, and office markets. The company employs 1,700 people in Wisconsin, including 425 at the Menomonie location.
