The new deal involves much of the space that will be vacated by Dannon Co. Inc., which decided this past May to relocate its corporate headquarters from Tarrytown to more than 50,000 sf at 100-150 Hillside Ave. in Greenburgh. Dannon will be shifting its workers to its new Greenburgh headquarters by the end of this year.
A spokesperson for Kraft Foods also confirms the company had decided to expand its presence at the Tarrytown building. She says Kraft had always intended to lease more space at the building, "but it was a function of when it would be available." The spokesperson adds that Kraft will have approximately 400 employees at 120 White Plains Rd. when its space is fully occupied. Some of the workers will begin to move into the building during the week of July 12. The company hopes to have all its employees relocated to the 202,000-sf building prior to year's end.
The workers that will be shifted to the Tarrytown building include employees from its Desserts and Post divisions, along with employees from operations that support its North American businesses. Most of the workers will relocate from the Altria Group building in Rye Brook, which has been put on the market for sale. Altria Group is the parent company of Kraft Foods.
Greg Caggainello, senior vice president and co-director of Reckson's Westchester/Connecticut division, says, "This is confirmation of Reckson's ability to attract high quality tenants, such as Kraft ... . This is turning out to be a very busy summer for us." Maureen O'Boyle and Greg Frisoli of Cushman & Wakefield represented Kraft Foods in the transaction.
