NRG was represented by Jon Marks and Joseph Sarno of Cushman & Wakefield of NJ. Gil Medina, director of C&W's technology enterprise group, was involved in obtaining $7.5 million in state Business Employment Incentive Program financing for NRG, and Jerry Miller of the firm's project management services group is coordinating the details of the tenant's fit-out work and move-in logistics
Boston Properties, owner of the building, was represented in-house. Terms of the signing were not disclosed.
NRG owns and operates a portfolio of power-generating facilities. A substantial portion of its holdings are located in the Northeast, a factor providing the catalyst for the move, according to David Crane, the company's president and CEO. NRG's operations include baseload, intermediate, peaking and cogeneration facilities, thermal energy production and energy resource recovery facilities.
"The opportunity to occupy the entire building also provided significant appeal," says C&W's Marks. "It is being completely retrofitted for the new tenant."
