Other tenants setting up shop in tollway oases are Tropicana Smoothies, Juices and More and Travel Mart. Fifth Third Bank also is installing automatic teller machines in the renovated rest stops, a project being done by Wilton Partners and ExxonMobil.
The seven oases were built between 1958 and 1975. Next to reopen by the end of the year are the Hinsdale oasis over the Tri-State Tollway and DeKalb oasis over the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway. The 51,000-sf oases are larger, with 30-foot ceilings. The redesign oases also offer more of a view of the tollway. McHugh Construction is the contractor, Knight E/A is the engineer and Cordogan, Clark & Associates is the architect.
