The recognition was made at BOMA's 19th annual Office Building of the Year awards banquet in Toronto. Westwood and ProLogis competed against 95 other buildings located in the US, Canada and Europe. It's the first time Orlando's BOMA chapter has carried off two global prizes in the office building category, BOMA public relations chairman Michael K. Lewis tells GlobeSt.com.
"Recognized as the pre-eminent awards in the commercial real estate industry, the Office Building of the Year (TOBY) awards honor buildings demonstrating excellence in building management, operational efficiency, energy management, tenant relations, emergency planning and community impact," Lewis says.
Westwood Corporate Center and ProLogis Park advanced to the finals in Toronto by previously winning top awards locally and at the regional competition in Jacksonville, FL. "The nominees represent an elite collection of buildings and property management teams," Lewis says. "Only 14 awards, representing various property categories, were up for grabs."
Westwood Corporate Park, managed by Laura Ragans at 6675 Westwood Blvd., won in the suburban office park category. ProLogis Park, managed by Debbie Chamberlain, was judged best in the industrial office park category.
