Phillips Edison successfully lobbied city officials to have the 33-acre parcel on which La Plata Plaza sits rezoned to accommodate the new retail project. "La Plata Plaza is a fresh and exciting community shopping center with further growth opportunities that will benefit the community, the tenants and Phillips Edison's investors," says John Bessey, Phillips Edison's vice president of development. The property will be expanded in a second development phase, adding 130,000 sf of retail space.
