The commercial builder, ranked as the nation's eighth largest, took down shell space and customized it to make the move into Plano Corporate Center II, a 154,000-sf office building at 2301 W. Plano Parkway. The new deal takes the two-building development to 75% occupancy, with the Baltimore-based property owner holding a plan to add two more. The space's quoted rate is $18.50 per sf.
Tracy Fults, senior director for Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc., tells GlobeSt.com that Plano Corporate Center was up against a renewal at 6606 LBJ Freeway in Dallas for the regional office lease. "There was some desire to be back to what they built, but it also was a market-rate deal," says Fults, who brokered the pact along with C&W's Allison Fannin. John Beach with Dallas-based Jackson & Cooksey Inc. represented Whiting-Turner.
