Work 'n Gear Opens Six Stores in Region

According to William B. Hesse, president of Aries Deitch & Endelson of Hartsdale, the retailer recently opened a 4,250-sf store at the Orange Plaza Shopping Center, a National Realty and Development Co. property in Middletown, NY in Orange County. Work 'n Gear has also joined the tenant roster at the Beach Shopping Center in Peekskill, NY in Westchester County, leasing 3,810 sf of space from owner DLC Management Corp.

Work 'n Gear also opened new sites in Connecticut recently with the assistance of Aries Deitch & Endelson director of retail real estate William Grad. In Bridgeport, Work 'n Gear has a new, 4,650-sf store at the Brookside Shopping Center, a development owned and managed by Edens & Avant. In late summer 2004, the retailer is scheduled to open its fourth Connecticut location, a 4,800-sf store at Stateline Plaza in Enfield, which is co-owned by Samuels Associates and Edens & Avant, according to Aries Deitch & Endelson officials.

The retailer also expanded its New Jersey network of stores to include a 4,100-sf site at the Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung, and a 3,500-sf location at South Cove Commons in Bayonne. Blue Star is part of Federal Realty's retail portfolio, and South Cove Development owns the South Cove Commons property. Leda Madureira, Aries Deitch & Endelson's director of New Jersey retail real estate, coordinated site selection and lease negotiation for the two new store locations.

Headquartered in Massachusetts, Work 'n Gear currently operates a chain of more than 60 store locations in 12 states. The company specializes in apparel, footwear and accessories for work wear and the healthcare industry.
