Matthew S. Khourie, who will continue as senior managing director in Houston, just completed his first day in the expanded role. Prior to the promotion, the Central US development and investment duties were divvied by T. Christopher Roth, who heads up the eastern division, and John A. Stirek, leader of the western operations. Khourie, a member of TCC's operating committee, also gets a berth on the executive committee with the new role.
Khourie, with oversight for national retail development, tells GlobeSt.com that the retail development pace that he's built in Houston will be extended to Dallas/Fort Worth, which has predominately focused on office and industrial projects. Khourie has five shopping centers in various stages of construction and development in the Houston area.
TCC's other active retail development markets are Atlanta, Austin and Denver. "But," Khourie vows, "I am going to try to grow that business more in more cities." He adds the retail focus won't overshadow TCC's other development sectors.
