In the largest transaction, Party Fair of Middletown took 13,304 sf at Middletown Plaza in Middletown. Schultz director Steven Winters also represented the landlord, the Philadelphia-based New Plan Excel Realty Trust. The 200,000-sf shopping center has been undergoing a substantial makeover that has seen anchor ShopRite supermarket more than double its space to nearly 80,000 sf, and Eckerd Drug and Joyce Leslie join the tenant roster as co-anchors.
In other transactions authored by Schultz brokers, Baja Fresh took 3,250 sf for a new restaurant at 1600-1660 Route 23 North in Wayne; and both Sprint Spectrum (3,000 sf for a wireless stores) and the Fatburger restaurant chain (2,500 sf) took space at the intersection of Mount Hope Rd and I-80 in Rockaway.
Finally, Sprint Spectrum took another 1,650 sf on Route 22 West in North Plainfield; and both Camille's Sidewalk Café (2,814 sf) and Fatburger (2,000 sf) took space at Christopher Columbus Drive and Washington Street in Jersey City.
