The company is expected to take occupancy at the 285,000-sf building in either November or December. HCL Jones will occupy offices on the fourth floor of the five-story building.
W&M Properties' officials note that the HCL Jones transaction is the fifth lease deal signed for the nearly 100,000-sf of space formerly occupied by AT&T. The AT&T space became available on July 31.
"Interest in this newly available space has been strong and leasing has been brisk," says Jeffrey H. Newman, executive vice president of W&M Properties, the marketing and managing agent for the building. He adds that he expects the remaining 60,000 sf of AT&T space to be leased fairly quickly.
Al Gutierrez and Frank Tomasulo of CB Richard Ellis' Stamford office represented the tenant, while W&M's Newman and JoAnn B. McGrath, vice president of leasing and marketing, handled the deal for the building owner. According to W&M officials, HCL Jones Technologies has been operating out of approximately 6,000 sf of subleased space from Nine West Corp. at 1129 Westchester Ave.
Commenting on its move to Harrison, Al Curcio, executive vice president and chief operating officer of HCL says, "We looked at several buildings in this area and found this location, which is close to our customers, was ideal."
