The change is the tenant lineup is due to Pittsburgh-based Dick's Sporting Good's purchase of Gaylan's. With its purchase, Dick's now operates 216 specialty sporting goods, apparel and footwear stores in 32 states, including four Gaylan's in Colorado.
Terry McEwen, president of Memphis-based Poag & McEwen, says he is pleased Dick's Sporting Goods will seamlessly replace the 65,000-sf Gaylan's. "Prior to the acquisition, both organizations targeted a similar customer and offered comparable merchandise so the transition as far as draw and offerings at the Shops at Centerra will be seamless," he says.
The 668,000-sf Shops at Centerra is under construction at Interstate 25 and US 34 and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2005. Poag & McEwen, with 12 developments either completed, under construction or in development in the US, says it is the only national developer that exclusively focuses on lifestyle retail centers. McWhinney Enterprises is the largest developer in Loveland. Centerra is a 3,000-acre master-planned community. In addition, in northern Colorado it has developed the headquarters for Kroll Factual Data Corp., Swift & Co., and the Poudre Valley Health System's Harmony Campus expansion in nearby Fort Collins.
