SEi Cos. traded up into 10,989 sf of class B office space at 2424 Wilcrest Dr., relocating from a 9,000-sf, freestanding, service center in the southwest submarket. The move coincided with the expiration of SEi's five-year lease, Jason Whittington, principal for NAI Houston, tells GlobeSt.com. SEi went to market for more space due in part to its merger last year with Dabney Engineering. A larger office and proximity to clients sparked the decision to tap Westchase, he says.

Whittington says the new office underwent an extensive renovation to accommodate SEi, which signed a lease for more than six years. The firm occupies 25% of a 44,117-sf building, owned by a local partnership. In the Westchase submarket, class B space averages $15.72 per sf.
