MCLEAN, VA-Freddie Mac institutes a new initiative that paves the way for easier financing on properties with low-income housing units. The mortgage lender's new program gives qualified correspondent lenders more leeway when underwriting mortgages on such multifamily properties in areas across the country.
GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corp.'s Affordable Housing Division will serve as the first correspondent lender to participate in the new program.
