Calvin Hull, with 23 years' experience, will make the move Oct. 12. "Calvin Hull is a great guy and we have truly loved working with him," Lucy Billingsley, managing partner of the Billingsley Co. in Carrollton, says in a prepared statement for GlobeSt.com. "We will miss him, but wish him the best and look forward to working with him on lots of deals in the future."
Hull, marking a two-year anniversary Sept. 23, says the decision to move on was based on "leasing opportunities." The Billingsley team, with Hull as the leader, has reduced company's stock to 30,000 sf of office space in a 1.2-million-sf inventory and 300,000 sf of industrial in a 3.3-million-sf portfolio. "There's not much left," he says. "I'm proud of the fact that we averaged over 100,000 sf per month of office, industrial, retail and tenant representation transactions during my two years there." In fact, he's just closed another half dozen leases as his final coup for the company--and, he adds, the times are just not right to build any spec office product.
Hull will be one of six senior vice presidents in Staubach's corporate services group, which totals 160. "I just hope to get over there and pull my weight," he says, adding Staubach's platform helped to shore up the decision to move and become a tenant's rep.
Hull's "relationship-driven philosophy and focus on the client's needs mirror the values and culture of the Staubach Co.," Roger Staubach, chairman and CEO of the locally based Staubach Co., says in a press release. "His tremendous reputation in real estate precedes him."
At Billingsley, Hull coordinated corporate services, marketing and leasing of office, industrial and retail. Prior to that, he was an executive director and top producer for Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc.
Billingsley says there are no plans to replace Hull. "Barbara Houlihan and Carter Crow have absolutely proven their significance, talent and leadership. We will look to them to continue leading the office, industrial and build-to-suit divisions," she says.
