Golf Galaxy, boasting an interactive store component, made a 10-year commitment for part of a made-over 100,000-sf Target store. The golf superstore will open in first quarter 2005.

H. Dean Lane Jr. with NewQuest Properties Inc. tells GlobeSt.com that Golf Galaxy is looking to land at least two more locations in the city in the next six months. North Houston and the Galleria are at the top of the "wish list." The seven-year-old specialty retailer has 29 stores, each averaging 17,000 sf, in 13 states. A company spokesman declined comment on the Texas push.

Fidelis Realty Partners bought Baybrook Square Dec. 31, 2003. Since then, the local company has backfilled anchor holes with names like MegaMarshall's, which took 60,000 sf in the Target box, while others like Office Depot, DSW Shoe Warehouse and Pier One have committed to openings left by Kids R Us, Service Merchandise and Palais Royal. Fidelis' in-house broker Lynn Davis is steering the leasing comeback for a regional mall set at the intersection of Interstate 45 and Bay Area Boulevard.
