Rwe Nukem will continue to occupy space on the first floor of the building, which is owned by Sunbelt Management, a joint venture of Union Carbide Corp. and Danbury Buildings Co. "The Carbide Center offers the kind of amenities and tenant services that help to make our employees more productive," says Fred Schubert, vice president of finance of Rwe Nukem.
Meredith T. Siburn, associate director of Cushman & Wakefield, represented Rwe Nukem in the transaction. She also represented the firm when it moved from Stamford to Danbury five years ago. Rwe Nukem Inc. was founded in 1982 and is part of the RWE group of companies, which is headquartered in Essen, Germany.
