Noble is counting on Williams' 25 years of hospitality industry experience to broaden the firm's ownership, management and development portfolio. "He has built a tremendous reputation in the industry and is the ideal candidate to spearhead our efforts to acquire hotels for our new investment platform," Shah says in a prepared statement.
Noble's chief investment officer, Jim Stormont, will continue to lead the firm's strategic public/private development platform "where we have executed on more than $240 million in the platform's first year," says Shah.
Williams is a former development and strategic planning executive at Holiday Inn Worldwide. During his eight years at Hardin Capital, Williams oversaw the development of $400 million in assets comprising 3,000 guest rooms, according to Shah.
On its own, Noble owns or manages 23 hotels with 4,100 rooms. Through Alliance Hospitality Management, a majority owned affiliate of Noble Investment Group, Noble operates an additional 41 hotels with 6,044 rooms.
Noble's development arm, Stormont Noble Development, and its predecessors have developed $700 million in hotel projects, representing 5,500 rooms and 300,000 sf of convention and meeting space. The company is a franchise partner of premium-branded hotels under the Marriott, Hilton and InterContinental Hotels Group brands.
