Ford tells GlobeSt.com that new initiatives will be fine-tuned today and tomorrow at the principals' meetings and unveiled in the general sessions, which begin Friday and conclude Saturday. The annual event is being staged for the third time at the Phoenician, where the agenda is "a combination of deal-making sessions, education and fun and relaxation," Ford says.

Ford's extended contract and promotion to the group's first CEO are clear rewards for the Dallas-based organization's strong growth in the past two years. In 2003, TCN Worldwide added 13 commercial real estate firms, representing about 200 brokers, to the international network, which now consists of 48 independent companies with more than 1,200 brokers and sales representatives in 200-plus primary and secondary markets. Ford confides another "10 or 11" firms with nearly 400 brokers are coming on board this year. Two brokerage houses will be announcing their memberships at the conference.

"Ross' promotion to CEO, as well as the extension of his TCN Worldwide contract, reflect his dedication to hard work and success at leading our organization over the past six years," Neil Siderow, chairman of TCN Worldwide and one of the founding partners of Murray Hill Properties/TCN Worldwide of New York City, says in a press release. He credits Ford's "superb leadership" to the double-digit growth and platform expansion.

During Ford's tenure, TCN Worldwide initiated a benchmark re-certification program to guarantee that members are living up to the organization's commitments in terms of size, scope and services. Ford, a 19-year commercial real estate exec, is tasked with implementing marketing, expansion and networking initiatives for the member firms, which represent $11.1 billion in annual transactions and more than 80 million sf under management.
