The properties are near the campuses of Florida State University and Florida A&M University, both in Tallahassee, and the University of Florida in Gainesville. The transaction is scheduled to close by year end. The purchase includes the assumption of about $35.1 million of existing fixed rate mortgage debt, American Campus says in a prepared statement.
The company owns 16 student housing properties containing 3,900 apartments units and 11,800 beds. American Campus manages 32 housing properties totaling 22,300 beds.
