The development will consist of one, two-story and three, two-and-a-half-story handicapped accessible elevator rental apartment buildings. There will be a total of 103 "affordable" senior rental apartments to be developed. The units will range in size from 800 sf to 1,100 sf with monthly rents in the $805 to $1,100 range. In addition, there will be two, three-story senior condominium buildings containing 58 units. Eight of the units will be priced according to Westchester County affordable housing criteria, with the remainder being moderately priced, Wilder Balter officials say.

Also part of the Jacob's Hill development will be a 5,000-sf clubhouse, an outdoor pool, over one mile of walking trails and community gardens. Deborah Post, vice president of Wilder Balter Partners, said the first rental apartment units should come on line in the next 14 months to 16 months while the first condominium units will be ready for occupancy in about 18 months.

The rental apartments component of the project was granted tax credits under the Federal Housing Tax Credit Program administered by the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal. The project also received a total of approximately $3.85 million from the Westchester County New Homes Land Acquisition Fund and the Housing Implementation Fund.
