Work began on the eight-story office building earlier this year. Building and Land Technology officials say that tenant demand for the property is strong and that negotiations are ongoing with a number of prospective tenants. However, no deals are ready to be announced, they say.
Located at the intersection of the Merritt Parkway and Route 7, 901 Main Ave. is the third and final office building in Building and Land Technology's Towers at Merritt River Corporate Campus. Also part of the complex are 801 Main Ave., the 290,000-sf headquarters for Diageo North America Inc. and 1001 Main Ave., a 250,000-sf office building that serves as the regional corporate headquarters for Hewitt Associates. Diageo, which is shifting operations from Stamford and White Plains, NY, is expected to take occupancy of the 801 Main Ave. building in the first quarter of 2005.
While marketing efforts are ongoing for 901 Main Ave., the property will most likely be a multi-tenanted building, a company spokesman says. Building and Land Technology, headquartered in Norwalk, has owned or developed more than $1 billion of real estate including more than two million sf of office space, 2,500 apartments and condominiums and 500 single-family homes.
