Located at 1427 Wyckoff Rd., the new facility will house a call center, mail processing operations and customer service employees. Four hundred employees are in the process of moving in, another 400 are slated to be on-site by the end of this month, and company officials project a total of 1,000 workers at the location down the road.
"Our new facility will allow us to consolidate operations so that we can more effectively serve our members," says Horizon BCBSNJ president/CEO William J. Marino. "The facility will also serve as a backup for customer service operations in case of a disruption of service at our Newark [NJ] headquarters."
Besides its Newark headquarters and the new location here, the organization has a 500-person operation in Mt. Laurel, NJ, in the southern part of the state. Horizon BCBSNJ employs some 4,400 statewide.
The three-story facility was built for Horizon BCBSNJ by Commercial Realty and Resources, a division of New Jersey Resources. The latter, which is also the parent company of New Jersey Natural Gas, has its own headquarters right next to the new Horizon BCBSNJ building.
