CALIFORNIA, MD-Occupancy expands at San Souci Plaza, now that Dollar General has signed on to occupy 8,300 sf of space at the 247,000-sf shopping center. San Souci Plaza sits at the intersection of Rte. 235 and MacArthur Blvd., a well-traveled spot in the St. Mary's retail corridor near the Naval Air Station.
Dollar General joins a tenant roster that includes anchor Shoppers Food Warehouse, which occupies a 61,400-sf space; as well as JoAnn Fabrics, Fashion Bug, and Maximum Health & Fitness, which committed to 15,600 sf in August.
Financial terms of Dollar General's lease with property owner Rushmore Properties have not been made available. However, Divaris Real Estate Inc., which handles leasing of San Souci on behalf of Rushmore, markets space at the retail property for $12 to $18 per sf. Retail Strategies represented the discount retailer in the transaction. Dollar General has over 7,000 locations in 30 states across the US.
