COSTA MESA, CA-Donahue Schriber will open more than 500,000 sf of new retail space during the fourth quarter, with the development and investment firm scheduling the launches of nine centers in California, Arizona and Nevada during the quarter.In Southern California, the company has completed the Plaza at Silverhawk, a 91,000-sf neighborhood center anchored by Vons and Walgreens at the northeast corner of Winchester and Murrieta Hot Springs roads. The center opened at 99% leased, with one 1,000-sf space available. The company's five other new California centers are all in the northern part of the state--in North Natomas, Roseville, Elk Grove, Placerville and Brentwood. The North Natomas, Roseville and Elk Grove properties are all anchored by Kohl's department stores that opened in March. The North Natomas property is Park Place II, a 225,000-sf center where the new space opening in the fourth quarter includes a Borders Books, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Daphne's Greek Café and Coldstone Creamery. The Roseville property is the 195,000-sf Highland Reserve Marketplace, at Highway 65 and Pleasant Grove Boulevard, which is nearly complete. The center is 96% leased, with spaces remaining between 1,400 sf and 3,000 sf. The Elk Grove property is Elk Grove Commons, a 242,000-sf center at the southwest corner of Bruceville and Elk Grove Boulevard. The new space opening in the fourth quarter includes a Trader Joe's, Dress Barn and six additional tenants.The other two Northern California centers are Missouri Flat Village in Placerville and Lone Tree Plaza in Brentwood. Missouri Flat, at the northeast corner of Highway 50 and Missouri Flat Road, is anchored by a Safeway and TJ Maxx. Lone Tree Plaza is 456,000 sf. Its new stores opening during the fourth quarter include Kohl's, Sports Authority, Michaels, Linens 'n Things, Petco and In-N-Out Burger. An 89,000-sf Home Depot opened at the site earlier in the year and the remaining shop space is expected to be completed first quarter 2005. In Nevada, Donahue Schriber has opened Eldorado Plaza, a CVS Drug-anchored center of 44,553 sf at the southwest corner of Camino al Norte and Ann Road. In Arizona, the company's openings include two centers totaling almost 225,000 sf that are due to be doing business by the end of the year. They are the Shoppes at Highlands Village in Mesa and the Shoppes at Gilbert Commons in Gilbert. The Mesa property is a Bashas'-anchored neighborhood center, and the Gilbert center is the 137,000-sf second phase of a 288,000-sf community center where the new space will include Old Navy and Henry's Marketplace.
