Jonathan A. Schein, president and CEO of Real Estate Media, will open the conferences all three days. After opening on Tuesday, he will turn over the dais to keynote speaker John Kratzer, president and CEO of development firm JMI Realty Inc. Kratzer will address where the San Diego market finds itself in 2004 and where it is headed in 2005. Following his remarks, panel sessions will examine the facts and figures behind the San Diego Investment Market, including statistical reports and a discussion by leading San Diego office, industrial, multifamily and retail players. Following the panel sessions, Centre City Development Corp. is offering a free tour of Downtown development in San Diego.
On Wednesday, Schein will turn the dais over to Kurt Strasmann, EVP and managing director for Grubb & Ellis in Orange County, who will moderate a Town Hall Meeting on the state of the Orange County market that will feature panelists from a cross section of industry leaders. Other sessions throughout the day will focus on REITs versus private companies, capital markets, the high-rise multifamily phenomenon in the county, the accelerating pace of tenant-in-common transactions, and a full spectrum of other industry topics. The day's sessions will include a special presentation, "Inside the Real Estate Mind," that will be hosted by Michael G. Desiato, editor-in-chief of Real Estate Media Inc. Desiato's session will feature an in-depth discussion with Richard Ziman, chairman and CEO of Arden Realty Inc. Other highlights of Wednesday's event will be the noontime keynote by Bruce Mosler, president and CEO of Cushman & Wakefield, who will present his thoughts on Orange County and the industry nationally.
When RealShare travels to Los Angeles on Thursday, Schein will deliver opening remarks and then turn the microphone over to keynote speaker Lee Saltzman, SVP and CIO of American Financial Realty Trust, one of the country's most active investors in single-tenant net lease deals. Saltzman will focus on today's transactional environment, competition in the market and what it takes to get deals done. Following his address, SVP Sterling Champ of CB Richard Ellis will moderate a Town Hall Meeting titled "Changing Dynamics in the Net-Lease Market" that will feature industry leaders airing their views as well as a question-and-answer session inviting comments from the audience. Throughout the day, panel sessions and speakers will examine the factors driving the net lease market, action in specific markets, the impact of 1031 investors, sale-leaseback deals, the financial climate and virtually every aspect of the net lease world.
