Vail Resorts, a publicly traded company that operates the ski mountain, plans a $300-million redevelopment of Lionshead, as part of a $1-billion redevelopment of all of Vail. The new Lionshead village, at the base of the EagleBahn Gondola, would include a new RockResorts luxury hotel and spa. RockResorts is controlled by Vail Resorts. It also would have 71 condominiums, ranging in size from about $1.3 million for a 1,400-sf unit to slightly less than $10 million for a 7,000-sf unit penthouse. Most of the units will have three bedrooms and will be priced from the low $2 million to the low $3 millions.
The plan also calls for an outdoor ice rink, new landscaping and a new skier bridge, a nationally branded hotel, and new restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
