An estate sold the Elm St. property to Bora Property LLC for $650,000. Bora Property, which has several investment properties in the metro area, will continue to lease the building through 2008 to its current tenant, Pyramid Technologies, which designs and manufactures electromechanical devices for the business and marine industry. The mixed-use building is comprised of 40% warehouse space, 40% industrial and 20% office space, Express Auction officials say.
Albert Macanian acquired the medical building on Cook Avenue from Third Avenue Associates for $730,000. The real estate investor, who owns several other properties in the area, plans to lease the offices at the building and is actively looking for tenants, Express Auction officials state.
On Dec. 14, an auction sale will be held for the BC Porter's Furniture Building, a five-story, 54,000-sf property at 222 Main St. The property, built in 1885, features a full basement and two elevators. A 25,000-sf warehouse was added to the rear of the original building in 1942. Recently the street level storefront was occupied by BD's, a beauty and discount store. The property, owned by 222 Main Street LLC, has been on the market for more than a year.
"The BC Porter's Furniture Building has the ability to be at the center of it all," says Oren Klein, vice president, northeast sales for Express. "This mixed-used building has great potential because it is right in the heart of Downtown New Britain. The upper levels of the building are candidates for condo conversions, while the lower level is a spacious storefront."
