Janice Cimbalo and Robert Cavaiola of Studley report that publicly held WPT Enterprises Inc., a majority owned subsidiary of Lakes Entertainment Inc., is tentatively scheduled to move to its new quarters in February under the $3-million lease with Wilshire Courtyard owner McCarthy Cook & Co., which was represented internally by Darren Dahlman. The relocation enables the media and entertainment company to maintain its production, post-production and corporate departments all in the same space, according to Cimbalo and Cavaiola, who note that WPT's "World Poker Tour" television show is a popular offering on the Travel Channel. WPT Enterprises, after a recent initial public offering of its stock, is also expanding into different areas of gaming. Cimbalo says the biggest challenge in finding a new home for the WPT departments was in finding a building that could accommodate the varied requirements of both production and office space, while also providing flexibility for continued growth. WPT Enterprises is currently headquartered in the Formosa Building at 1041 Formosa Ave. in West Hollywood. In its move to the two-building, one-million-sf Wilshire Courtyard building in the Miracle Mile district, WPT will join other entertainment companies at the complex that include E! Entertainment, Spelling Entertainment, Rebel Entertainment Partners and the entertainment industry trade publication Variety.
