BOONTON, NJ-Work is under way on a 20,000-sf expansion to the Wal-Mart-anchored Boonton Plaza in this Morris County community. The new building will boost the Garden Commercial Properties asset to close to 200,000 sf.The Short Hills-based developer has at least three tenants lined up for the new space. Quizno's Subs, Payless Shoe Source and GameStop are all set to join the tenant roster at the complex, which is located just off of Interstate 287."We're now one step closer to being able to offer a full-scale retail center with all of its components fully operational," says Joseph Korn, project manager for Garden Commercial Properties. "Boonton Plaza will become a retail foundation to build on."Construction of the expansion to the basic retail mix coincides with the development of a separate freestanding bank. According to Korn, Wachovia Bank is set to open on the site.
