The Northbrook, IL-based Grubb & Ellis' corporate chiefs did not return telephone calls for comment by publication time. The Louisville, KY-based YUM started negotiations with all the large houses about six months ago, Phil Puckett, TCC principal in Dallas, tells GlobeSt.com.
Puckett, who teamed with TCC's Anthony Fritsche in Houston to chase the deal, credits the firm's performance with the Dallas-based Pizza Hut account as the deal-maker for the parent company. "I think we've earned their trust and respect having that (account)," he says. "We presented our corporate services platform and they liked that." The contract only spans YUM! Brands' office space, but a confidentiality clause bars Puckett from discussing the future of the 60-office network.
The corporation is one of the world's leading fast-food franchisors. Its brand lineup is KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silvers and A&W All-American Food Restaurants.
