FORSYTH COUNTY, GA-An estimated $35-million, 450,000-sf big-box shopping center called 400 Crossroads may be coming to this metro suburban area if Norcross developer Clint Day can get his project through all the required governmental paperwork, retail brokers familiar with the submarket tell GlobeSt.com.
Day couldn't be reached by GlobeSt.com's publication deadline but Forsyth County planning department staffers confirm the developer plans the venture near the Bridgetown subdivision being constructed for 1,000 homes off Browns Bridge Road and east of GA 400. The site is about 25 miles northeast of Downtown Atlanta. The property is located on both sides of Browns Bridge Road, also known as GA 369. The road crosses Lake Lanier.
The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority is reviewing the project to see how it may affect existing roads and the environment, a routine procedure with commercial projects over 300,000 sf, area brokers tell GlobeSt.com. County officials say they haven't been told yet how many buildings or tenants the center will have--only that it is scheduled to open in 2006 and be completed in 2007.
