ATLANTA-Cincinnati-based North American Properties Inc. has beefed up its corporate staff with the hiring of Ralph Conti for its local office. At North American, Conti becomes a partner in the company and vice president of development. Terms of his contract were not disclosed.
Conti was vice president and director of development for Beachwood, OH-based Developers Diversified Realty for the past five years.
Recognized nationally for his 25 years of expertise in orchestrating high-profile, complicated urban infill retail projects, Conti will head North American's team of professionals "in the planning and execution of 21st century retail and mixed-use developments across the country," says Mark Toro, a company partner.
"The face of retail development has change," Toro says. "In order to compete, developers must be versatile and knowledgeable in dealing with complicated, urban sites, environmental challenges, municipal bond financing solutions and complex community impact issues." He says Conti is "a leader in each of these areas."
Conti has held previous executive positions with Glimcher Group Inc. of Pittsburgh and Homart Development Co. of Chicago. He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, a master's degree in construction management and a master's degree in business administration from LaSalle University in New Orleans.
