Roberts worked on retail design and design management as manager of architectural services with Eckerd. She worked on an average of 250 stores per year. She also renegotiated and secured signed contracts for building components and architectural/engineering services for Eckerd. Burgess is a licensed architect and state certified plans examiner in Florida. She holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Miami.
JC Penney Co. sold the Eckerd Corp. in July of this year. A portion of the firm was acquired by Rhode Island-based CVS Corp.; the remainder by Jean Coutu Group Inc.
