Woodmont seeded the group's start about 18 months ago by putting Will Martin into the top job of vice president and director. Now, he's added Jim Benson and Tyler Trahant, both associates at their previous jobs, as assistant vice presidents. Of the firm's 22 brokers in Dallas and Fort Worth, the office team had just four on it until Benson and Trahant joined. The trio's working on a stack of deals, with at least one set to close any day now.
Benson spent the past three years with NAI Stoneleigh Huff Brous McDowell in Fort Worth and Trahant was with the Richard D. Minker Co., also in Fort Worth, since 1998. Benson's background includes 15 years in the construction industry as an executive and officer for several construction and project management firms.
"Now, we've got some firepower," Martin tells GlobeSt.com about the recent hires. And, he says he's talking to another two more seasoned brokers who should be part of the team in 60 days. Martin's team will focus on the Fort Worth CBD as well as office buildings to the southwest and west of the city line.
