The financial details of Danya's lease with property owner Atlantic Realty, which acquired the building in 2000 for $14.1 million, have not been disclosed. Atlantic's Carl B. Taylor represented the ownership, while the Ezra Co.'s Glenn Meltzer and Todd Sherbacow stood in for the tenant.
Located off Rte. 97, the 12-story building at 8737 Colesville Rd. was developed in 1987. Danya's lease, and recent commitments to space by other companies--including the Koba Institute, and firms Dietzel, Butler & Associates LLC and Cortina & Lenkerd--have left the property fully occupied. "Business leaders recognize that downtown Silver Spring is now a vibrant, dynamic market that offers a great location and excellent value," says Atlantic Realty partner David A. Ross. "Vacancy is fast approaching 8%, down from 18% in 2002, as more tenants become aware of the leasing opportunities Silver Spring offers."
