Prior to joining Wells, Bowers was CFO at NetBank Inc. and before that assignment held the same position at CheckFree Corp., a pioneer in the electronic bill payment industry, according to Wells president Leo Wells. He calls Bowers' background in the financial services industry "long and distinguished."
Bowers earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Auburn University where he was graduated summa cum laude. He is a licensed CPA and serves on the boards of various venture capital and nonprofit organizations in metro Atlanta.
