The Scottsdale, AZ-based Shea landed Adam A. Arnold as a senior commercial consultant for its Dallas office. Arnold, a specialist in B2B commercial real estate sales, previously was a broker at Dallas-based Jackson & Cooksey Ltd., which doesn't comment on personnel departures. Arnold is teaming with Shea's David Rutson to sell and market office condo space, including the 2525 McKinnon project in Uptown.

The Dallas-based Joe Foster Co. has hired its first novice, grabbing the gold with the new hire. Brad Bridgewater, a former Olympic gold medalist in swimming, is the first inexperienced hire for the team, says Foster. "We have 12 highly experienced, tenured brokers who each have between 20 and 30 years' experience," he says in a press release, "and we had all agreed not to bring on new associates with limited real estate experience because of the time involved in the training process."

Foster says the decision to hire Bridgewater as an associate was based on his built-in discipline and competitive streak. It is, he stresses, "the kind of discipline and ambition he did not get from reading a book." Bridgewater has been assigned to acquisition and disposition of investment properties and land plus is assisting other team members on a wide variety of transactions.

Bridgewater was a member of the US National Swimming Team for a decade. In the 1996 Atlanta games, he won a gold medal for the 200-meter backstroke event. "Coming from such a competitive environment, I saw that real estate is the perfect match for me because a person is not limited by anything other than his own talent, ability and drive," Bridgewater says.
