The new North Terminal will feature 25 to 27 gates as well as customs and immigration facilities, allowing international flights to use the terminal. That will allow for the demolition of Berry Terminal, nowused by British Airways, USA 3000 and charter airlines.

When completed in 2008, the North Terminal will be the final step in rebuilding the airport's terminals. The Midfield Terminal opened in 2002 and handles operations of Eagan, MN-based Northwest Airlines, the airport's dominant carrier.

The Davey Terminal closed in 2002. Most other airlines, which currently use the Smith Terminal, will move to the North Terminal when it opens. And if the North Terminal includes customs and immigration, as is now the plan, airlines currently using Berry would go there.
