Stan Twardy, a member of Day, Berry & Howard's executive committee says of its decision to renew at Canterbury Green, "We have been a tenant at Canterbury Green for more than 20 years," he says. Tom Pajolek, Sherry Cushman and Ned Burns of CB Richard Ellis represented the law firm in the transaction.
Canterbury Green is a 14-story building that totals more than 224,000 sf of office space. The building, located in the Downtown area at the corner of Suburban Avenue and Broad Street, is currently 97.8% occupied. Day, Berry & Howard, which employs more than 225 attorneys, also has offices in Boston, Greenwich, New Haven, Hartford, West Hartford and New York City.
Margaret Carlson, who represented Equity Office in the transaction, says the local office market is improving. "Office vacancy continues to decline in Stamford and positive absorption is stabilizing. With a strong infrastructure, job growth and educated workforce, the city remains an attractive place to do business. We are optimistic that Stamford will continue growing as the region's key business hub." Carlson is the managing director-leasing of Equity Office's local portfolio.
