A project of locally based Borraie Development LLC, headed by Wasseem Borraie, the complex will include a 422-car parking garage topped by a landscaped garden. The main building will also have a rooftop garden, and its amenities will include an indoor pool, according to Borraie.
The building has been designed by the New York-based Costas Kondylis and Partners, and Tishman Construction Corp., similarly New York-based, is building it. According to Borraie, the marketing effort to fill the units will kick off shortly and will target upscale buyers.
Rising just across the street from the Middlesex County courthouse complex, One Spring St. will have another distinction when it's completed. At nearly 260 feet, it will be this city's tallest building. That distinction has been held for more than 20 years by the world headquarters building of medical products giant Johnson & Johnson, a 14-story structure rising about 210 feet. Among Borraie's other projects here is the 20-year-old Albany Street Plaza office complex, where the company maintains its headquarters.
