Cynthia Alexander, senior vice president, Sumitomo Life Realty (NY) Inc. presented the award to Borders at a CREW banquet at the Coca-Cola Co. headquarters.

Alexander told banquet guests Borders was selected because "we want to recognize seasoned veterans who make a difference and positively impact the community through setting business trends, mentoring, leadership positions in business, civic and industry-related associations and is responsible for a significant amount of business, either directly or through a network of referral sources."

Besides her work at Cousins, Borders also is president of the Atlanta City Council. Before joining Cousins, she worked in the healthcare industry for 15 years, holding down the chief administrator's post at Atlanta Women's Specialists and serving as vice president of operations for Healthcap Atlanta.

Borders holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University at Durham, NC and a masters of science degree in health administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.
